Our term two holiday programme started in a cold July week. But we didn’t let that stop some great indoor activities and fun excursions. A big favourite was the popular Kidzone, and our staff took over 30 children there in three days. For those that didn’t go, we had a great time at the Invercargill Library building Lego one day and playing with Robots the next, we watched a movie back at the Fernworth Hall and did some baking.

For the second week, some of our group went swimming and ice-skating in Gore, and some to Sandy Point and Andersons Park for a look around. Everyone kept busy with plenty of craft activities, board games and movies at the end of the cold days.

We were also fortunate enough to have over 30 pairs of colourful hand knitted slippers donated to us by a grandparent. Our kids had a ‘slipper day’ and all said they were very warm!

On the final day of the programme a disco was held, with a cool disco light on loan from Sono Sound, and a bouncy castle donated for the day by a parent. It was a fun way to end this programme and all the kids had a fantastic time.

Our Oscar Team Leader Leanne Hyde said this was a very successful programme with happy children that kept their minds and bodies active during the two weeks. She has already begun planning the term three programme outline with lots of fresh new ideas.
